Innovative Spaces

This back yard was screaming for an away place to sit and talk on a hot summer day.

We designed and had a redwood pergola built to enclose the space in just the right way.

Simple IKEA curtains hang from bamboo stakes in the pergola beams and a donated chandelier makes the space feel indoors.  Wired for electricity, suspended lights twinkle at night and the seating, a mix of found, repurposed, and hand-me-down wicker and teak, is tied together with white slip-covers.

On movie nights, a simple roller shade, mounted on one of the pergola beams, can be pulled down during the space into an outdoor movie theatre.
